Click here! Quick “holiday gift” question!?

What’s a good (tasteful / fast / easy / affordable) Christmas / Hanukkah present to get for the staff of my dentist’s office?

All the stores are full of candy and cookies and chocolate baskets, and I can’t get them that… lol. Also, unfortunately I don’t have time to bake or make anything myself.

Thanks people! 😀

Traditional Christmas/Holiday dishes from other countries?

Ok, so I’m wanting to make something a little different this year from Christmas eats, and since I love geography and cultural studies, I thought it would be cool to try a bunch of traditional holiday dishes from other countries and cultures. I’m looking for everything from cookies and sweets, side dishes and salads, to main dishes like soups, poultry, etc. In addition to Christmas fair, I’d also be interested in any Hanukkah recipes also.

So, if any of you guys have any suggestions for me, please either give me the recipe, leave me a link to a recipe, or just tell me the name of the dish and I can look it up myself. Thanks in advance!

LGBT: Fun Christmas questions.?

OK so I am stealing Saz-Stars idea here.

1. What type of tree topper do you have on your Christmas tree?

2. Do you still have any of your favorite Christmas ornaments from your childhood.

3. Do you have any heirloom Christmas ornaments that have been passed down in your family?

4. Real Christmas tree or artificial?

5. What color lights do you have on your tree? All white or multicolored?

6. Did you hang any lights or decorations outside this year?

7.Does your Christmas tree have a theme? or is it just random ornaments that you treasure?

8. Did anyone make popcorn garland for their tree this year?

9. Do you still put out cookies and milk for Santa?

10. If you don’t celebrate Christmas (because you are not Christian) can you tell me something about your religions traditions i.e. Hanukkah, Kwanzaa etc.?

Thanks for playing along!

Funny things to do at Christmas?

1. Buy a package of Keebler’s E.L. Fudge Sandwich Cookies and hand them out to children saying this is what happens to the bad elves.

2. Get a job as a mall Santa and then tell all the children that they’ve been naughty and won’t be getting any presents this year.

3. Get a job as a mall Santa and then tell all the children you are sick of the milk and cookies crap and you’d prefer a beer and some hot wings instead.

4. Wear a Santa suit to the nearest red light district and stand on the corner saying "Ho! Ho! Ho!" as women walk by.

5. Stand in front of a supermarket wearing a Santa suit, ringing a bell and wishing everyone a Happy Hanukkah.

6. Call Park Rangers in your area and tell them Rudolph is sick. Ask if you can borrow one of their reindeers. If they tell you no, then yell at them telling them they are heartless souls for ruining Christmas for all the children around the world.

7. Post a sign in front yard that says Carolers Welcome. Then when they get almost to the front door turn on the sprinklers.

8. Sell jars of water, advertising them as Frosty the Snowman urns.

9. Decorate the yard for the holidays… using your neighbor’s decorations.

10. Stand on a street corner selling dime bags of mistletoe.

It’s Christmas Eve, is everyone ready?

I still have a lot of wrapping to do and one more batch of cookies to bake, but then I’m ready. My husband got iced in this morning, so he’s home all day (YEAH). Tonight we’ll enjoy a cozy evening by the fire and have a few snacks and lattes.

I hope that you all have a wonder Christmas/Hanukkah. Stay warm and be safe.

Conservatives who support religion (specifically Christianity) in public schools, is this a fair compromise?

In my school district, which my niece is enrolled at, Elementary schools hold holiday/ winter parties where they make snow flakes, snow men, they can make stocking, play with a dreidel, learn about the different holidays of the season, there are Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and winter sugar cookies, they also have chip pretzels and other snacks. It recognizes all of the holidays of the season and the time of year but respects all students. So, what is the problem? Why does it matter if there is no organized Christian prayer, teaching or any other prayer for that matter? The schools still allow Christmas recognition.

Lousy Hanukkah Gifts

Hanukkah: literally “The Festival of Eight Sub Par Gifts” in English. It’s the thought that counts, right? Sure, why not?
