Im looking for a sugar cookies glaze?

Im looking for a recipe for a glaze that I can dip or pour over my sugar cookies to make a semi hard surface that I then can pipe frosting on for more details. The one I have works well but doesn’t taste very good. Who wants a cookie that’s pretty but has a bad flavor. Open to any ideas, recipes and suggestions. Even a regular frosting recipe that gets hard. I’m getting ready to make Easter cookies on Saturday and need help. Thank you!

An Italian Easter cookie, we used to call them “rosettes”, simply b/c they looked like roses, but they are not

the fried things – You make a dough, roll it like little snakes, roll them on your finger like a spring, then bake. I remember using orange zest and almond extract. Looking through Gram’s recipes, I can’t make heads nor tails of it, can anyone help? I’d like to surprise my Dad for Easter. Thanks!

What are these holiday cookies called?

My grandmother in law passed away and hubby and I were not lucky enough to receive her recipes.
I would like to give some details about these cookies and see if anyone knows what they are called.

They are pink and white and usually "braided" together and then curved at the top to form the shape of a candy cane.
they are somewhat of a "sweet" cookie, yet the pink and white parts of the cookies have two very distinct flavors.

hopefully someone can help, if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
