Are there Christmas cookie recipes that I can make with just the simple ingredients I already have in my house?

I have all the basic ingredients in my house right now.
I want to make some different kinds of Christmas cookies without taking a trip to the store.
What is there to make?
Any recipes? (easy and simple but good)

Know any good peanut butter cookie recipes?

I’ve googled it and searched a couple websites for a good peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie recipe, but I thought I would take advantage of this wonderful forum to see what all you lovely people had in your books and recipe bins. I used an allrecipes.com recipe last time I made peanut butter cookies and they were good, but they didn’t have the texture that I like.

I like those cookies you buy in the package, break apart and bake and would like to be able to recreate them as best I can homemade. I don’t want them to be crunchy, like the type you would dunk in milk, but I don’t want them too soft either.

If you think you’ve got the recipe for me please share it! The one I choose to make will be awarded with a best answer after I make them Friday night (the 23rd) and conduct a taste test. 🙂 Thanks!

Note: I’ve got two sticks of butter in the bowl softening as we speak and want to the recipe to yield about 4 dozen since I’m going to be sharing them with friends and family.

Any special cookie recipes you’re willing to share?

I love to bake, and cookies are my specialty. Lately I’ve been falling back on generic recipes, though, because I can’t seem to find anything really sentimental in cookbooks or on web searches. Do any of you have special recipes, like ones that your family members invented, or ones that’s just special to you at all?

Even if it’s not really special, I’m definitely in the mood for any cookie recipes you all can provide for me. Thanks! =)
